L'zonya was born in Ala Mhigo in the year 1548 to the Viper Tribe.Conflict
At the tender age of 8 her homeland was invaded by the Garlean Empire, who conquered the city in 1556. She remained in the city under Garlean rule during her adolescence.Imperial Service
Once she was of age, she voluntarily swore herself to the Garlean XIVth Legion. L'zonya served the Empire dutifully as a soldier for a number of years before she was selected for magitek experimentation. The torturous experiments left the young Miqo'te's body enhanced with Garlean technology and her soul forever scarred.Freedom
Following the death of the Black Wolf, L'zonya defected from the Empire. Though those who knew of her initial treachery did not so openly welcome her. When she attempted to reunite with her tribe, she was not accepted until she challenged her tribe's nunh to single combat. She defeated the weakling with ease, and ultimately decided to leave her tribe after sending her message.The Darkness Within
Now freed of both her bonds of family and nation, L'zonya wandered the world beholden to none but herself. Yet she could feel the darkness within her festering. She sought to channel these feelings into a force to protect others who were forgotten and pushed aside by the powerful, and thereafter brandished her sword as a dark knight.
